Food Drives
Household food insecurity is strongly linked to poverty in Canada. 70% of households who rely on social assistance in Canada are food insecure. But it also greatly affects a significant portion of the Canadian workforce. 60% of food-insecure households rely on wages and salaries as their main source of income.
There is an increased need for food support in our communities due to lost jobs, lower incomes and the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
The Not Alone Team understands each person's circumstances is different and we try to advocate by doing food drives. Over the past year we have been able to do 1382 food baskets, for families that are housed and struggling.
